Christmas Projects

One Missions Students wants to help you as you are seeking to be obedient to God’s call to serve the nations this Christmas! Applying to serve in any opportunities listed below through One Mission Students qualifies you for financial assistance (included in the price) if you complete all requirements listed below. If you’re considering service internationally – you must already have a passport application in process before you apply!

The deadline to apply for Christmas projects is September 30, 2024. 

One Mission Students must be:

  • Maturing Christians
  • Active in an Alabama BCM or Alabama Baptist Church
  • Be of good physical and emotional health
  • Participate in personal evangelism on your college campus
  • Students must refrain from any use of alcohol, tobacco, pornography, sexual contact outside of marriage, and/or any other activity that will call into question your integrity or hinder one’s witness for Christ.
  • Completed one semester of college
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • You must also attend a training for your place of service, information will be given after you are appointed.
  • Complete zoom or in person interview with One Mission Students leadership. You will receive an email after your application has been submitted to schedule your interview.
  • Commitment to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and US State Department
  • You must be willing to be vaccinated with any vaccines required by a country/city to travel to or through that country. The One Mission Students team will discuss this further with you on a case by case basis.

Houston, Texas :: Christmas with Missions Centers of Houston

WHAT YOU PAY (includes OMS Contribution): $175 (includes meals, lodging, transportation, insurance, and ministry expenses)

Come serve in various Christmas ministry projects in one of the most diverse cities in America. Students serving on this team may be a part of ministry events for children, teens, and senior adults. This team will host Christmas parties for the many people that Mission Centers of Houston engages with on a weekly basis. If you are looking for an opportunity to share the hope of Christmas with the ‘least of these’ this might be the right opportunity for you!

Huntsville, AL :: Christmas Backpack Project

WHAT YOU PAY (includes OMS Contribution): $50 (includes meals, lodging, insurance, and ministry expenses)

This team of students would join Iglesia Bautista Familia de Fe in a Christmas outreach event where the backpacks BCMs across the state gather will be distributed to children in their community. Students will also serve in other outreach opportunities alongside other churches/ministries in Huntsville. Students will be responsible for transportation to Huntsville. Arrival will be late afternoon/early evening on Friday, Dec. 13 and departure on Monday, Dec. 16.

New York City :: International Christmas New York

WHAT YOU PAY (includes OMS Contribution): $900 (includes meals, lodging, transportation, insurance, and ministry expenses)

Go to the Ends of the Earth in just one week! Students will be immersed in the cultures of East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and South and Central America as they partner with local churches to engage the nations and share the hope of Christmas. Outreach opportunities will include English as a Second Language classes, Christmas parties, canvassing, and more.

Romania :: Sharing Hope in Romania

WHAT YOU PAY (includes OMS Contribution): $2100 (includes meals, lodging, transportation, insurance, and ministry expenses)

Join this team serving alongside the International Mission Board and Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Bucharest on Christmas outreach projects. This team will be a part of helping pack and distribute Christmas packages to both Romanians living in poverty and to Ukrainian refugees in the city. You will also help host a Vacation Bible School for Roma children and other Christmas outreach opportunities alongside members of Holy Trinity Baptist Church.
