Update from West Africa

I worked in a clinic some this week, and had a shortened week in my village. One morning, I went out to the farm, but the man I work with wasn’t out there; however, his oldest son was already working, and he told me he would be there soon, so I started working with him. After an hour, he still hadn’t shown up, and one of his younger sons who work with us came by and said the man was in town at a Baby Naming Ceremony. I worked for another half hour, and decided I should go check out the ceremony. As soon as I got there, I found my guy and he told me to go back to my hut and get my radio and Gospel tapes. Because of that, I got an extra time in to share the stories that day, and by the end of the day, almost 20 men heard the Gospel, some of them were men I didn’t think had any interest to begin with.

It’s hard to believe that I really only have 7-8 days left in my village. The time has flown by. My biggest prayer needs at this point are that God continues to draw these people to Him and grow their interest to the Gospel. Additionally, I ask that you pray with me that I don’t go into autopilot over these next two weeks. It would be so easy to just coast through to the end of the month, but I want to make the most of my time and bring glory to God and love these people.

S is a student living in the villages of West Africa serving among an unreached people group. Continue to pray for him, his team and other students serving this summer.
