Clarkston is one of the most diverse communities in America. Known as the “Ellis Island of the South,” nearly 70% of the population is foreign-born, representing more than 50 countries with more than 100 distinct ethnic groups—all living within 1.4 square miles. This provides tremendous opportunities for churches and individuals to invest in the residents of this unique community. This team will be a part of an immersive experience at the Send Relief Ministry Center, engaging in refugee ministry as well as various ministry outreach projects throughout the Atlanta metro area. This team will be participating in a variety of compassion opportunities that may include apartment outreach, food pantry ministry, after-school programs, sports ministry, canvassing, prayer walking, homeless ministry, physical labor, and serving at-risk families. Aspects of training and equipping to learn how to better serve the international and refugee communities will be woven in, so that you can go back and apply this in your city.
