Are you fluent in ASL, looking to improve your ASL skills, or do you love working with the Deaf community and kids? The Deaf Camp, a ministry of Brentwood Baptist Church, offers opportunities to work with young children to teenagers, with Deaf and hearing staff, and interact with the Deaf community, Deaf and hard-of-hearing campers, and their families. Two months of Deaf Camp will provide you the benefit of experience working with the Deaf community and children, ASL receptive and expressive skills, and leadership skills. For students to thrive while working with us, they will need at least moderate ASL skills, experience working with children or summer day camps, a heart for Deaf youth to know Christ, flexibility to be indoors or outdoors, and the ability to lead youth activities and classes.
Special requirements: Students need to have at least moderate ASL skills and will complete a zoom interview with field leaders to determine ASL ability.
