Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 (HCSB)
Perhaps you’ve seen the Disney movies Finding Nemo or its follow up, Finding Dory. The movies are favorites that I’ve watched several times with my kids. The emotions that each character has throughout the films are relatable as you begin to put yourself in their place.
I am always challenged by the persistence of Dory. Despite her loopiness at times, she maintains a positive attitude and focus to “just keep swimming.”
This summer has been hard. Every week, it seems there are reports of sickness that is spreading through teams. Challenges at home and on the field are distracting students in significant ways. Spiritual warfare is happening. The evil one is at work, doing whatever he can to hinder the work of the Almighty through these students.
We must just keep praying. We must not lose heart. We must continue to be obedient in our role as prayer warriors. May we be found faithful in daily lifting these students up. May the challenges that exist be opportunities to allow God’s work to shine even brighter.
May we be that bold and intentional in our prayers for these students as they serve while facing great challenges but also seeing great victories.
To date, dozens of professions of faith have been reported. Countless lives have been changed – both the lives of those being served and of students serving. God is at work. What a privilege we have to join Him as we just keep praying.
