Go from village to village, playing basketball, showing the Jesus film and sharing Christ with hundreds, as you also disciple new believers. Live out of your bag, wash your clothes by hand, and sleep wherever a door is opened. Be a part of the next wave of Nehemiah Teams obeying the Great Commission. In partnership with IMB missionaries & national church planters, you will become a part of Filipino culture, make friends through sports, and make disciples in this very hard place.
Your first stop will be a joint orientation with other Nehemiah Teams at the Nehemiah Teams Training Center in Mentone, Alabama. Learning the skills needed to carry out your assignment as well as team building will fill these first few days. Following your summer of ministry, you will return to the US for a joint debrief... sharing all God has done over the summer. Participants must commit to the entire program from orientation through debrief.
Special requirements: Students that serve on this project should have an interest and skill in playing sports and seek to use that to engage others with the Gospel. Team members should be in good overall health, those with severe food allergies may want to consider other options as their needs may not be able to be accommodated.
