One Missions Students wants to help you as you are seeking to be obedient to God’s call to serve this summer! Applying to serve in North America through One Mission Students qualifies you for up to 30% of your total field costs and transportation (but no more than $1,000) in financial assistance if your project is 3 weeks or longer and you complete all requirements listed below. Financial assistance is also based on the amount of fundraising assistance you provide in your local BCM.
One Mission Students must be:
- Maturing Christians
- Active in an Alabama BCM or Alabama Baptist Church
- Be of good physical and emotional health
- Participate in personal evangelism on your college campus
- Students must refrain from any use of alcohol, tobacco, pornography, sexual contact outside of marriage, and/or any other activity that will call into question your integrity or hinder one’s witness for Christ.
- Completed one semester of college
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- You must also attend Missions Prep Weekend, April 21-22, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Prattville. This weekend will provide you with information about your service opportunity this summer and training in evangelism, safety and security.
- Attendance at Missions Debriefing Training is required as well. This training will be determined by your team leader or based on your location of service. It will help you better tell your story and debrief from your missions experience.
You must also complete two report forms as you serve throughout the summer.

BOYS CAMP COUNSELOR – Spend the month of July serving as a counselor at Royal Ambassador camps across the state. Camps will be held July 6-8; 17-22; 24-29. All camps include missions education, spiritual growth through twice-a-day Bible study and outdoor chapel, opportunity for decisions, respect and relationship building, and camp activities (archery, air rifles, tomahawk throwing, blow darts, canoeing, cooking on a campfire and a buddy burner, swimming, adventure recreation, compass and rope craft skills, and nature study!) Once selected for the position counselors will be paid staff working for the Global Missions Office of the State Board of Missions. APPLY BELOW :: BOYSCAMP
METRO CHANGERS – BIRMINGHAM, AL – May 29-August 10 – Serve among the underpriveleged in Birmingham with teams that come in to show the love of Christ by improving substandard housing. PHOENIX :: We’ll have 2 teams going to Phoenix this summer. Spend 10 days in June or 6 weeks June-July!
The SUMMER LONG TEAM will serve from June 7-July 26 doing following up on SBC outreach, and connecting with church plants in the city. From children, to inner city, to suburban ministry, there are opportunities for you! We’re looking for 12 students to fill this team. The SHORT TERM TEAM will serve for June 7-16 in several special outreach events (block parties, homeless ministry, inner city and suburban ministry) alongside the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) meeting and will end the trip with a visit to the Grand Canyon! VBS TEAM :: MAY 26-AUGUST 2, 2017 :: Orlando is the number one tourist destination. 66 million people visit the city each year adding a very diverse culture to Orlando. ROCK Ministries reaches out to the tourists but also partners with the local churches to reach the 2.3 million people that live in the Greater Orlando area. There are over 150 churches and missions in the Greater Orlando Baptist Association. These churches try to reach the children in their communities through Vacation Bible School. Many of these churches are small congregations or new church starts that could really use help. ROCK Ministries would like to partner with some of these churches in the summer of 2017 to help them by providing several summer missionaries to help with VBS. GREATER WICHITA, KANSAS :: MAY 23-AUGUST 1, 2017 :: Church planting assignment. The plant is focused on unchurched millennials in Cowley County, Kansas. We are planning outreach events starting with Easter 2017 followed by a summer of outreach in 2017. The church will launch September 10, 2017. Students will be involved with various outreach events during the summer and will be working with missions teams providing leadership, logistical help and assistance as needed. Students will also develop a strategy for reaching students at Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City and Southwestern University in Winfield. Student missionaries will provide support for the church planter: helping with meetings, planning, field work and follow-up with prospects. The students will benefit by gaining experience in church planting methodology. They will be mentored by staff from the mother church, Aviator Derby and will be equipped at the end of their time to help more effectively with reaching other students and unchurched people.
