When I left the Sunday morning service at our church this week, I ran into a student who is leaving for a summer missions experience in a few days. I spoke to her and told her that I was excited for her and assured her of my prayer support. She gave me an update on the latest with her assignment and said, “Just pray.”

Just pray: Those words challenged me. They reminded me of my task this summer. Pray. That’s what my job is. That’s what your job is. We are to pray for the many students who are serving in our neighborhoods and abroad.

Last week was one of the busiest travel weeks of the year as many students have now made it to their assigned locations for the summer. However, many others are still on the way to their assignments. Many have settled into their areas of service while others are still trying to figure things out. What an honor it is to know that God has allowed us to serve alongside these students through prayer.

  • Pray.
  • Pray for safe travels.
  • Pray for God-ordained relationships and conversations.
  • Pray for all the details to be worked out.
  • Pray for lives to be changed.
  • Pray for God to use these summer experiences to make an impact back here on campuses in the fall.

Will you join me in praying for these students who have stepped out in obedience to God’s call to the nations this summer?
